Travel is the driving force behind the work of world-renowned Australian artist and designer Gemma O'Brien. Whether through the photos she takes of her journeys as references of texture, pattern and color or the language, nature and experiences with communities around the globe that would influence her brand campaigns, murals and installations. Known for her bold graphics against vibrant backgrounds, Gemma’s work, spanning calligraphy, typography, and illustration, has been commissioned by the likes of Apple, Nike, Tiffany & Co., Google and The New York Times. Her international career was ignited by the blog For the Love of Type and has since taken her places to attend conferences and workshops — most recently around Germany, Mexico and an art residency in Sardinia.
