Mélanie Murata

Born in Peru, raised in Naples, Florida and trained in Italy, Mélanie lives and works between studios in LA and Florence. With her studio named Karu, meaning "travel to faraway lands", going away, exploring and then synthesizing it all is how she finds inspiration. Her work has been featured in publications such as Architectural Digest and exhibited at the Salone del Mobile Milano, Lake Como Design Festival and Art Basel. She finds inspiration in the nature and by melding the old world of timeless design and materials she encounters in Florence, Italy with the new she soaks in and finds ideas in, in LA.
