To artist Na Chainkua Reindorf, the potential for storytelling is everywhere. Not just narratively, but in patterns, shapes, textures, and sounds. Working expertly in the realm of mixed media and myth-making — as she calls it — Na Chainkua presents often overlooked social, political, cultural, and historical intricacies. She assembles materials such as acrylic, jute, sisal, wool, and beads to create large-scale tapestries and immersive sculptural installations — including a series titled Mawu Nyonu which was showcased in Ghana’s National Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale. Her past works have been exhibited in institutions across the United States, in Illinois and New York, as well as in Lagos, Nigeria, and her hometown of Accra, Ghana.
