About Oye DIRAN
When Oye Diran volunteered to photograph extracurricular events in college, he didn’t expect for it to change his trajectory so drastically. But it was at this juncture that Oye rediscovered his passion for art that was first sparked back in his hometown of Lagos. What followed was a career shift that led him on a journey to elevate Black culture through photography. Since then, his photographs have appeared on CNN, BBC, Vogue Italia, LensCulture and Kinfolk, to name a few. We chat to Oye about race, spirituality, connecting with one’s authentic self and moving between Lagos, Los Angeles and New York.
