"Wandering around the streets for me is often a great way to find inspiration. As I paint mostly mid-century modernist architecture, places like Dover Heights are amazing, but I find gems — little things that have grabbed me from around Sydney — everywhere."

"My partner and I are constantly buying things off garage sales. We drive to all sorts of places on our weekends to get little things. Then we'll do a drive around the suburb to get breakfast there. We went to Wahroonga recently and we drove around and took photos of all the houses around there."

That space is inspiring, and anyone visiting Sydney should wander through it because it's a beautiful former jail. It's great to see all the artists that study there sitting around on the lawn, drawing."

"I go to Stanley Street a lot. I have a soft spot for Bill and Toni's because it's so nice sitting on their little balcony, and you get all sorts of characters wandering through. I've seen a few artists sketching — It's close to the National Art School. Lately, the whole feeling around down the street has been amazing, so that’s a favorite."

"I love The Long Goodbye. It's a classic late-night spot of mine. There's no menu, so you say what you're in the mood for, and they’ll make any sort of cocktail. You might say you like fruity, and they’ll make a beautiful extravagant fruity cocktail, or sweet or sour — I love that."
