"It's hard to find good African food in North America. Chicago luckily has a couple sweet gems like Yassa and it serves West African food. It has this special Yassa lamb, which is so good. It's marinated lamb with onion, garlic, mustard, lemon, and some secret spices. It reminds me of home back in Cameroon and the meals we eat there."

"When they think of Chicago a lot of people think of Chicago deep dish pizza. And Chicago deep dish is incredible. I love it. But most locals have more of a tavern style pizza, which is square cut, crispy and cheesy. That's what Michael’s is so good at. I usually get extra cheese."

"I love to go to Quimby’s Bookstore in Wicker Park. It’s this artsy book spot that has sections where local creators can have their zines sold on consignment. They have graphic novels, magazines, special events. They’re representing a very diverse pool of Chicago artists and creative publications."

"My favorite coffee spot is actually my family's. My dad is from Cameroon and was born on a coffee farm, he came to America to be a doctor and eventually went back to his coffee roots. I did the branding for it with patterns from our tribe in Cameroon. And the coffee is the best you’ll ever taste."
