Bonjour Madame

Bonjour Madame

"A queer, lesbian bar that I discovered a couple of years ago. It’s also a cafe during the day. There’s actually very few, not only queer, but lesbian spaces still open in Paris actually - maybe two or three. It’s nice to have this option that feels like someone’s living room."

Chapelle XIV

"It’s a gallery right near the metro and it’s just this really low-key, majestic place. Inside it looks almost like this smallish temple or Hammam area, because of the arched doorways, but it’s actually a gallery. The exhibits they have really have such a warm heart to them."

Place de la Reunion

"Place de la Reunion feels almost like an Italian piazza. There’s a fountain in the middle and it’s usually empty; it doesn’t have any water. And so that’s where all the neighborhood kids play. And it has this old, kind of chipped mosaic. Twice or three times a week there’s a market there."

Jardin Naturel Pierre-Emmanuel

"A tiny garden park that I discovered in the 20th, where I live, right below Pere Lachaise cemetery. I discovered it by chance just walking around the empty streets and it’s really a calm hub of little sprouts of nature that are not curated or polished — which is hard to find in a garden in Paris."

Paris-Féni

"Small, canteen-style, warm, cozy Bangladeshi cuisine. The owners are so welcoming and sweet. It has low ceilings in it, but instead of feeling a bit closed in or claustrophobic, you feel a bit held, actually."
