Victor Ekpuk says that he was ‘born an artist.’ Originally from Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom State, his intricate and complex multimedia works often incorporate the traditional Nigerian writing system of Nsibidi and explore themes of memory, identity, history and anthropology. The cross-cultural nature of his art has seen him work and exhibit in the Netherlands, UAE, Switzerland, Cuba, and around the US, where is now based.
