"Artwise, there is the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas in Austin. And there's The Contemporary Austin, which features the artwork of a lot of new artists. Recently, there are two Austin-based artists featured there."

"Big Medium is this platform or group that organizes this event called the Austin Studio Tour, which happens every fall, every year. People open up their studios so you can have open studio visits throughout the event for two or three weeks. And many of them are like people's homes or backyards, where their studio is, so you get to see how people transform their garage into an art studio."

"We have a second floor where our artists and residency friends come and go. We never have an empty house here. So when they stay with me, we go to Easy Tiger, which is super close to my place, for breakfast. It's a nice trendy cafe for breakfast."

"Then we'll probably go a bit south, closer to the downtown area. We'd go to the University of Texas Austin and walk around the campus. Look at my lab, and then check out the Blanton Museum of Art."

"If it's a hot day, we'd swim in the bottom creeks. It's a really nice combination of nature and people-watching. It has that kind of 70s and 80s retro style of people swimming, like the shower area around that time. And there are some interesting boutique stores to visit around there."
