For indie musician Claud, every trip home to Chicago is a chance to revisit the teenage haunts that shaped their identity and passion for music.

"There's a lot of jazz in Chicago. One place that I went to was a jazz club called Green Mill. You go in and get a drink and sit down, but when the music's playing, you have to be silent. People will actually shush you if you're talking. I think that's really cool."

"In the town where I grew up, there was this big festival called Ravinia. It's like a big pavilion where all the concerts are outdoors. Most people will bring a blanket and a picnic basket, and sit on the lawn and listen to music most weekends in the summer. It's really cool."

"The Botanic Gardens in Chicago are close to where I grew up. It's so fun to walk around. It's just beautiful gardens and nature landscape. I love going there. They have different stuff per season and it's really pretty."

"There's a music store called Chicago Music Exchange. It's pretty well-known in Chicago amongst musicians. It's just an incredible guitar shop. Their guitars are extremely expensive, so I'm saving up for one."
